Just went on a jaunt to put air in Bazza's tyres and to buy sunglasses. Fail on both counts: local servo had no air thingy within view plus workers doing stuff hither and yon, local chemist doesn't stock sunglasses because the pharmacist is odd about random consumer items apparently.

Plumber came by. Advised that the stormwater pipes here are simply too small to cope with storms, and replacement with bigger pipes would not cost a small fortune, but a big fortune. Clearing them should help a bit, but ongoing problems are a certainty.

Watched Last Tango In Paris last night. A bit hard to get my head around at first, but woke up today feeling better for the experience.

Now feeling flakey.

I can work around this problem and in the long term I will, but...yes. Not ideal.

You mean the storm water drains are *your* responsibility and not that of local government/the council?

We went to put air in a front tyre the other day and had to wait about ten minutes while a couple of women struggled to inflate one bicycle tyre. I could have done it in half the time with a hand pump. (I could probably have done the car tyre in half the time with a foot pump too, if we owned one.)

Yes. The stormwater drains are part of this block, so they're our responsibility up to the property line.

We probably wouldn't have needed them if the original builders hadn't put concrete everywhere!
