1. Trying to think of random facts makes me go blank, and I'd be better off with some sort of theme other than randomness. After all, how can these facts be truly random? I'll be following a line of thought, it's just that that line of thought will not be described.

2. It's possible that I overthink things.

3. I really hate the light in my living room - it looks like an upside down peppergrinder but not in any kind of cool, ironic or artistic way - but I feel that replacing it would be a frivolous waste of money.

4. Also, then I'd have to actually make some sort of statement about aethetics, and this makes me more nervous that you might expect. Beauty is not objective, rather it is many ongoing conversations, and I find it hard to stay within one, and not to hop back and forth in one. And as soon as one conceptualises separate conversations, one then considers the consequences of merging.

5. Thinking about aesthetics got me thinking about art and I was going to say something about that, but then I realised that was definitely not random, so I'm trying to stop.

6. Now I'm trying not to think of a pink rhinocerous.

7. Recently I inserted my diaphragm too soon after chopping up fresh chillis. Luckily, after some frantic (and saucer-eyed) scrabbling around I found some anasthetic gel from a dental problem I had several years ago. The evening was not one of wild passion, in case you were wondering, as MyGC was not game to touch me - or let me touch him even though I offered to keep the anasthetic gel handy in case it was needed.

8. I don't read nearly as much as people think I would, and certainly not as much as I'd like.

9. These days I'm not good in the heat or in direct sunlight but I loved heat and sunlight when I was a youngster.

10. I really hate talking to people when they're drunk or stoned.

Snap on number 2. Overthinking is should be my middle name.

I giggled at number 7 because my ex also had a chilli moment. He is Italian and every year his parents ordered a whole pig and we made prosciutto and lots of home made salami and sausages and other cured meats. One of those was a lovely spicy cacciatore salami. I ground up all of the spices we needed, chopped garlic and chilli and my ex mixed it into the meat that his mum and I had minced up. The idea was to leave it to blend a bit while we had lunch, then put it in the casings in the afternoon. He wiped his hands on a washcloth and went off to the loo before lunch. We heard a scream from the bathroom - he had just held on to his dick when it started to burn. He was in agony for ages and had to soak his privates in milk. We dared not laugh, but it WAS a bit funny.

How could you not laugh?

And how could you ever refrain from offering him a nice cold glass of milk every time you see him?

Yes to the overthinking as well. Overthinkers unite!

OUCHHHHHHHHHHHHH on no. 7. I've touched my eye thoughtlessly after handling chilis and am surprised I wasn't blinded for life.

No. 10....me, too. I don't think talking to drunk or stoned folks is even possible, at least not in any meaningful way.

That's why we have livejournal...

Distinct difference re #7: chilli in the eyes and you automatically close your eyes. In my variation, you can't even blink.
