Tres Annoyant.

That possible virus/possible CFSyness thing is still kicking around. Saw my GP today for what was supposed to be all about catching up on prescriptions but I was clearly NQR and my throat's looking dodgy and I have a slight fever (and my temperature usually sits a bit lower than most people's to start with). On the plus side, I don't feel so bad about the fact I'm chewing codeine like it's going out of fashion, because this virus that's going round is noted for causing myalgia.

~~~
It's very badly timed, for this is the one night of the year when I really feel a strong urge to attend church, so that I can sit with the host. Later tonight, after the last supper, Jesus is very afraid. He's going to die (horribly), and he knows it. He's been betrayed by someone he loves, and he knows it and the circumstances are awful for all parties, and all the other disciples are in a stupor from nervous exhaustion and (probably) too much wine. Forget all the resurrection stuff - that comes later. Right now he is just one very frightened and lonely human, who could do with some company.
I only learnt of this ritual a few years ago, when what is asked of the participant was what I most needed in my own life, and it bought me comfort to provide it.
So I shall light a candle here instead.
I do wish more people would think about that. Most of Easter is a sombre affair. Its actually why Good Friday hymns are my favorite of the year - all the dark and moody discordant.
In other matters, you are now making me wonder whether I've got that virus and not payback.
Quite.
According to my GP it starts with a dry cough, with bonus bacterial infection risk. And the cough keeps going for a few weeks. And lots of fatigue and myalgia.
And I think this started last week sometime, but really slowly with some slightly better days in between It did feel like a real toss up between CFS and virus. Oh yeah, I've had a mild sore throat too.
She says I've got something virusy going on today.
Ahhh, okay. I haven't had anything other than my normal amount of cough, so no, not likely I've got the same thing.
