Astonished at how much the Aussie people on my friendslist on The Book Of Faces are getting into Hallowe'en. So are the Australian news sites.

Seriously crazy.

Alas, I'm not feeling it as I am an all-round grinch. An all-round grinch who is once again getting stuck into her taxes, no less.

Halloween has never been a thing here in Spain but in the last few years it has taken off...and I am amused at hoe nobody really knows anything about the history of the celebration. It seems so out of place here. Just another commercial thing to add to the list.

I think I remember someone complaining round here a year or so ago around that time that in the UK this has also grown a big theme although, say 20 years ago or more, hardly anybody celebrated it.
Don't remember what I answered, but I can say it at this point: Well, this is all due to Americanization all over the world.
(And some people still want to claim the Soviets / Russians want to conquer the world... - Look who's done it in fact.)
