Arted.

I'm back from seeing the collection of Catherine The Great. Mostly I don't share her taste but it's always fun pushing through crowds on Bazza. With bonus fun exchanges with strangers.

And I caught up with Eldest Brother and Second Nephew - who is about to finish his tertiary course and lordy, I feel so old all of a sudden.

I have come to find a giant wooden chest outside my front door. It's my fault for stopping briefly at a neighbour's garage sale on the way to the station. It's fucking huge and I don't know what I was thinking. Especially since it's going to be useless for storage as I will only pile crap up on top of it.

And now I have to toddle round to my neighbour's place to give him money, and maybe beg for help to get the darn thing inside...

Stack shit you don't need into the crate and then use it as a table.

Very glad you got out and had fun.

Shit now stacked. It will be a table very soon. I don't need to work on that part of the project as it will happen by itself of course.

Why can't you use the chest as storage? I'm assuming it has a cover? Or not?

I saw part of Catherine the Great's collection when Houghton House in England brought back the works she bought from that the family back in the day. Not my taste either but they hung all the works where they were originally in the house and it was splendid to see them in situ. I could see how they suited the Manor House form whence they came.

It's now filled with stuff that gets looked at so rarely it doesn't matter if I pile things on top!

Actually a lot of her collection would look quite nice in a more modest setting...
