I do hope pond slime isn't poisonous.

It's just algae. Mostly.

There are toxic forms of algae, but the kind that grow in fishtanks are usually benign. If you do not have a good flow within the tank, or if you are in direct sunlight, those are things that cause algae to grow quickly. I don't know if you have cold water tanks or tropical. If tropical, a plecostamus is a good creature to have around. Or Chinese algae eaters. But even they can become overwhelmed. There is a simple vacuum you can pick up to suck out the excess algae once you've scraped the sides of your tank.

This was in my waterlily pond/huge pot in the backyard.

Kind of slimey, but also stringy. I'm not sure when it arrived. It's not poisonous, but eww.

(I put fishtank plants in there occasionaly, when I want a change.)

Yeah, with the outdoor ponds, I think you pretty much have to clean the goop out with a net or whatever. It's just life trying to establish itself everywhere as usual.
