G'morning All.

Not quite. It's afternoon, just.

I just ordered my wicking bed! My wicking bed is going to be three metres long and 700mm wide. Also: 80mm high.

I'll be able to grow plants in it at a height that means I can mess about even when I don't have the energy to bend, or when maybe I just want to grab a few lettuce leaves for dinner...and don't want to bend and rummage.

My ace gardening person will install it for me. Possibly with the assistance of Eldest Brother.

~~~
In other news, I'm feeling good and cheerful.
What a clever idea - I'd not heard of wicking beds before. We do raised beds here, using old pallet collars stacked to the height you need (also ideal for those who can't bend), but not the self watering thing. Water is not generally a problem here - we have more of a challenge keeping the plants warm, so the need to use non-woven fabric to cover the beds. I never thought I'd be using soil thermometers and covering plants to keep them warm in summer :)
