We saw Strange Blessings
. Not your typical Comedy Festival show: it would be equally at home at the Fringe as well, I suspect, and she does change the focus according to audience response.
Quote(almost) afterward: "somewhere between Dr. Seuss and Shakespeare." (Except I don't think she made up any words. And now I'm coming up with different comparisons, like Ogden Nash and some other guy who does very thougtful musings on life, whose name I can't remember).
I had this weird sense during some bits that we were having a conversation and she was on an interesting rant (albeit a very poetic one). It's hard to know how much of that is because I know her (namedrop, me?)and how much was the performance. It's really weird seeing someone you know do that sort of show!
Anyway, it was a good and I'm impressed. You have the rest of the week...off you go!
