On the one hand, energy levels and cognitive function so much better these days, thankyou gabapentin.

(Going on gabapentin is where I date the improvements from, it appears to have been dose dependent and appears to have held even when it hasn't worked brilliantly on the Restless Legs Syndrome for which it was prescribed).

On the other, my sleep cycle is sooooo messed up. Sooooo very messed up (she said, after getting out of bed at ten to four).

Whenever this happens, not that anything this extreme happens very often, I wonder about trying to fix it by pushing sleep times back rather than bringing them forward (there's a term for this method, but I forget what it is). You go to bed later and later each night until you've worked your way back to what you want. Then you magically stop. Unfortunately even my hermit lifestyle has just enough by way of appointments to discourage me.

As does the weird fear that I would be crossing some kind of sanity-line and I may never return to normal. Can't work that one out. But it's there. Something tells me that even if I had a fortnight of no appointments, I wouldn't do this.

In fact, in fortnights of no appointments, I never do.

~~~
So tomorrow I will once again engage in the tedious process of beating myself up and knocking myself out in order to be out of bed by noon.
~~~

It is odd that my sleep cycle is so b0rked, this is usually associated with worse CFS, not better.

Sleep cycles are fragile things. I haven't been able to fall asleep before 4 AM in a long time. Not good, especially when I like to be up before 9 AM. I tried the traditional way of going to bed 15 minutes earlier each night but it's not working.

I thought the idea was that you get up 15 minutes earlier each day...

I think if you go to bed 15 minutes earlier you may well be getting up 15 minutes earlier, too? LOL
