Oh.

My computer is making weird ditditdit noises. Intermittently.

I had plugged in the bluetooth handset to charge. It's been dodgy - the USB ports are a bit slack, and I'd given up the other day as the charge light kept going out - so I decided to try again and leave it untouched for a while in the hopes that no movement would mean no disconnecting.

Then I went outside to play for a few minutes. I was interuppted by some loud dootdoot noises through the window.

So I came back inside to find my computer dooting loudly, the charge light on the handset was not on, and my computer was hot to touch.

Unplugged the handset, now noticing ditdit noises from, it seems, the area above the keyboard. Turned everything off. On restarting, it took a bit longer than usual, with ditdit noises which seemed to reduce in frequency.

Dits are still occuring when I refresh pages or change tabs...

What has happened, I wonder? Have I toasted this?

Not sure what to do, advice accepted.

Leave it off for a while. I also recommend taking the back off and seeing if you have a build up of dust.

+1 - sounds probably overheating induced, may clear up entirely if dusted out and left off for a while. Or not.
