Well. Something happened before: I was reading about Le Tour and I felt that peculiar, familiar tingling...I'd say it's a bit like that feeling when you're starting to anticipate hot, hot sex later in the day when your Gentleman Caller arrives, but that would be weird so I won't.

It starts in Yorkshire this year. Do they have cows in Yorkshire? It will be quite weird if they don't because cow spotting is one of Le Tour's cultural highlights and it's really not the same when all you've got to look at is sheep.

As for the time between now and then, well...I've woken up with that strangely blank feeling when I've got nothing on the to-do list, but enough energy to be a little concerned about that (rather than relieved). However my pain levels are up so I need to keep warm and proceed with caution.

It's on days like this that I most miss the quiet presence of family and loved ones just shambling about, doing whatever they're doing. But maybe later there'll be cows and they'll fill the gap (that's if they have cows in Yorkshire, otherwise I shall have to wait until Le Tour arrives in France, where there are cows aplenty because the French love fromage de la vache more than they love ugg boots).

But I digress.

I am now just working out what to do with my life for the next 9-10 hours. I suspect a nice warm shower will be involved so that nabs about 5 hours, then I suppose I might do some laundry and doodle.

I have seen cows in Yorkshire, if that helps.
