Well. erudito came over and we ate some nice Vietnamese food and had a nice chat, not having caught up for a while.

Unfortunately, I got to experience the food twice - once going down, once coming back up, but I'm okay now. And he took it all very calmly, I'm pleased to say. I'm not quite sure what the proper etiquette is for explaining to a dinner guest that you've just thrown up and had probably better go to bed, but I think we know each other well enough not to stand on ceremony....

But as for my health, it does seem like every time I think that things are starting to edge back to normal again, something goes awry. Hmph.

And this business about not just everything going through me, but also me not being able to put away more than tiny amounts of anything - it's not good. I've lost four kilos in four weeks.

One of the good things about being examined by a gastroenterologist is that at least they take such a thing seriously. I've met far too many doctors who don't seem to think rapid weight loss is a problem.

In my life, periods of weight loss have always indicated sickness. I'm either sick when it happens, or it's the first sign that something is on the way.

Got to bed really early last night, stayed in bed until about 3:30 today, except for the bit where I got up and got a tray full of fluids to bring back to bed with me, and the several trips to the loo that are standard these days. Oh and the bit where I grabbed Dave from the study and plugged him in here.

I am back in bed now and about to put the light out.

Boy, I'm glad you've got an expert to takes this seriously. I do hope things turn around for you soon.

It's nice to have pals who can roll with it, whatever it is.

My mother had chronic asthma, a friend in Canberra had a chronic skin condition, another ... I am accustomed to illness in friends and getting distressed just adds to their distress and is really unhelpful therefore.

But, apart from you being poorly, I enjoyed my visit to Chez Yours but, then I always do :)

I thought you might find this of interest.
