A Photo A Day(ish).

My 'cut and come again' garden. My 'cut and come again' garden.
This little patch, overlaid with chicken wire to keep the birds out, contains assorted non-lettuce salad greens, a few little parsley plants, radish and such. It's also where I'm keeping my little guavas for the time being - it's kind of little plant nursery as well.

What sort of non-lettuce greens do you have?

In this patch I have mizuna, mibuna, komatsuma (all three are Japanese greens - I think they're all from the brassica family). Chicory (a new one for me) and...oh hell something else I can't remember the name of! Also some radish and carrots, a couple of volunteer rocket and parsley seedlings.

It's a while since I've experimented with different seeds, so I'm looking forward to seeing what happens.

In the rest of the abover-ground patch I've got kale, more radish, onions, more rocket and parsley and the last of the last lot of mizuna (or was it mibuna...?) and komatsuna. Plus some coriander (which we just never seem to use, goodness knows why not), and some poppies which popped up and are allowed to stay because poppies are beautiful.

I don't like growing lettuce. It's a thing.

I would commit several murders to have a cut-and-come-again garden again.
