After coming down with a cold about 10 days ago now, I feel like I'm on the mend but not up to doing anything substantial. I keep feeling like I could do something, so I poke at some small project...then it all looks a bit complicated or I get distracted and I poke at something else for a bit and then I just need to shut my eyes for a while.

I have one appointment next week which I can't shift, and probably shouldn't anyway. I'm having an iron infusion which means a day trip to hospital and a few days recovery. Prior experience of iron infusions suggests I'll have a couple of days of creaky joints, a need to keep warm and a need to apply liberal amounts of codeine. I might sleep a lot too. But it means improved health in the longer term. Hopefully this cold and it's aftermath will have abated enough that simply enduring the fuss and bother won't be too much.

My gut is just being my gut, doing what it's been doing for a while now. (More or less. It's a bit hard to know.) I'm trying to ignore it, but I should probably start keeping records again because that's what I'm supposed to do. I find health record keeping tedious and annoying, but there are certain important questions doctors ask me every time they see me, and you'd be amazed at what you forget if you don't write it down.

Incidentally, for those of you who have to do a significant amount of medical record keeping, I've found the best strategy for this is to keep notepad and pen in the toilet. Seriously. It's the one place I can guarantee I'll be several times each day, I'm unlikely to be distracted, and I only have to remember back as far as my last visit for anything I'm supposed to record.

tenbears is now in the full throes of the infection. He is very sensibly taking some time off and sleeping a lot.

My carer came today so the mankiness of the sickhouse has been reduced somewhat. Clean sheets, hooray.

I really wish I could write something more substantial. There are thoughts in my head, but I think they'll have to stay there a while.

I'd agree with your place for keeping the medical record. Its also where you can think, hopefully uninterrupted.
I hope 10B doesn't reinfect you.

Ah, you're in that horrible place of minor illness where you have a bit of energy, and the soul is willing, but the flesh is still recovering.

My advice IMHO is pretend you are sicker than you feel, don't poke at projects, but go to bed with a good book for another couple of days. Then hopefully emerge renewed.

That idea about log keeping in the loo is a great one!
