Seriously, a wheatbag body suit. You'd also have to build an extra big microwave to heat it up in, but it would be worth the trouble. How could it not be?

I had the exact same thought last night. I wonder how big a zapper you'd actually need? *looks for ruler and calculator*

you can get wheat/heat bag booties (adult sized) I've been considering them...

oh look, here's some examples: http://www.naturalambitions.com.au/cozy_plush_toys.html

I actually got to grope rickybuchanan's pair last week. They do seem rather tempting although you'd have to take them off before trying to stand up, alas.

I fancy something I could face the outside world in, although I do foresee trouble with overhugging.

In the specially reinforced clothes dryer for half an hour? Maybe covered with fake fur carefully selected for its ability to withstand extensive clothes dryering, its insulative properties and its ability to transform the wheatbag suit into a thing of beauty and merriment.

Fake fur does not like heat. String or yarn, though, could work very nicely and give an even more cartoon-animal appearance.

Underground overground, wombling free!

Of course, it couldn't be a tumble dryer, because I think I'd be trying to put myself in there as well.

I have sketches and designs for clothing with special wheatbag pockets so one could wear them around and not look like an idiot. Of course people in our situation don't care if we look like idiots, but a wheatbag "puffy vest" could be worn to work by those more inclined to work than us.

Brilliant idea.

But made of some space-age substance that is more comfy than wheat, and stays hot longer.
