I have crashed out rather badly today. Waaay too much activity the last few days.

My carer is here today, I'm wondering if it's reasonable to send her out to buy some aromatherapy oils from the ghastly crystal shop. The issue being money of course, they ain't cheap.

Yes. I've definitely started liking aromatherapy. Just for the record, not because I buy into any of this new age wank. It smells nice, that's all and no correspondence will be entered into on the matter shutup shutup shutup.

I'll send her there with a half brick, so she can throw it through the window as she leaves.

~~~
I have a small list of things I wish to spend money on. Not sure whether my priorities are where they should be.
If it smells nice and makes you feel good/happy what right has anyone to snark?
I've recently rediscovered my love for aromatherapy after years of being scared of it due to my smell sensitivities. I can handle natural scents like essential oils, but nothing synthetic like perfumed products (instant congestion and headaches). My favorite scents right now are jasmine and sandalwood. Both lighten my mood.
Which scents are you into?
I hope your crash lifts quickly.
Sandalwood is like an old friend, although I find it a bit overpowering these days. I'm needing to keep air flow going when I've got oil going and only use really tiny amounts.
Recently purchased a 'mental clarity' blend which I'm loving - lemon, grapefruit, cedar, sandalwood and basil. We can probably blame this for me deciding I need to get more.
In the diffuser now is...sandalwood, rose and lemon. Sandalwood and rose suggested here for grief, with lemon because it was a bit too floral (that rose oil is *strong*. Only added one drop) Although I'm now regretting the lemon becaue I accidentally put in too much. I think I need something citrusy but not sharp like lemon.
I'm becoming intrigued by blends - the way a scent on its own that does nothing for me (or even puts me off) comes alive in combination.
Yeah, sandalwood is pretty heavy.
I'll bet the mental clarity blend is wonderful. I love all of those scents on their own, so I can imagine the blend is really powerful. I like to stick my nose in the basil in my garden. So delicious!
I made a blend for the bath with lemon, sandalwood and rose and I use it all the time. What are the chances that we'd mix the same things? Great minds and all. ;)
I like to use lemon oil in my shower on mornings I can't wake up. Maybe you could try orange or grapefruit. Those seem like they might be a little less sharp than lemon.
Thanks for linking to that website! I love getting ideas for new blends.
Bergamot, maybe. Or neroli, although that costs a mint.
But...but...aromatherapy cleanses negative energy and purifies and balances the chakras and tones and detoxifies and gets you in touch with past life experiences and...
I really love how certain scents can lift my mood or relax me. But like dahliablue said, it has to be the right kind or my nerves go bonkers.
Hope tomorrow is a better day.
No. No. Repeat after me:
It smells nice, that's all. It smells nice, that's all. It smells nice, that's all.
I love aromatherapy precisely because it smells nice and for no other reason.
I'm so glad that link didn't work. I've heard of BPAL and have the distinct feeling you were encouraging me to jump, like Alice, into a rabbit hole.
You were, weren't you? ;)
