When Good Pets Go Strange.

Further to the cat and her unsettling sitting:

I went to the couch, she followed within about a minute and jumped up. She even miaowed, which is a rare occurence. She climbed aboard the Splodge-a-tron, kneaded and stomped around as a cat will do, settled, resettled, and purred for a bit.

After about five minutes, she got up and left the room and spent the next three hours fast asleep in her secret(not really) invisible(not really) cat spot(we just let her think it is).

From this I am willing to assume that it was important to her that *I* was on the couch, so she could sleep in peace.

She came back before 10B came inside. He didn't come straight in, but mowed neighbours' lawns first, so I guess the noise woke her. And sitting on my lap when he gets home is good, because she can then be alarmed by his entrance, jump off my lap and lurk under the coffee table and make him feel bad.

I love her, but I never said she was nice.

Both Hermes and Isis are checkers of humans. Hermes often jumps up on the bed to check whether I am breathing (this involves sticking his face just under my nose; he doesn't check whether JB is breathing), and then happily wanders off.

Ha ha, cats are weird sometimes. Ours seems to need to have the human look at the cat food bowl (which has been filled earlier) before she can eat the cat food.

Ciaran wants to know where I am at all times so he can relax. He especially likes it when I am a couch potato--if I'm in front of the TV all day, he knows I won't leave him.

See? He wants to kill me by attrition.

Cats live in worlds of their own, don't they!
