Dressing For Dinner.

So, dinner with the theme of "Asterix In Switzerland" seems fairly straightforward.

One can wear something a bit Asterix-y or Obelisk-y, and one might also throw more than a partial nod to something Swiss-y.

You know, maybe a slice of cheese, some ludicrous plaits and a dairy cow (a toy one if needs be). A silly accent would seem mandatory.

And we are having fondue!

However, and this is a big however, what if that dinner is happening at the Swiss Club? Are Melbourne's Swiss expatriates going to be really keen to share their Swissy space with a woman trolling round in plaits trying to imitate the chef from The Muppets?**

It's probably not as bad as dressing like a kamikaze on sushi night, but only because the Swiss have been neutral for the last century or so.

Which just goes to show that peaceful neutrality does not win respect like violent xenophobia.

**10B just pointed out he's supposed to be Swedish. Sorry, but same-same.

Ooh, I want to go!

Tell the Swiss folks you're dressing up like Asterix - they've read the comics too, and will love it.

Where does one find an inflatable menhir?

I"m glad you cleared that Swedish chef part up because it was really confusing me.

You have some fun dinner parties! I'm sure they'll be glad that you're spending money at their establishment.

Hope you enjoy the roast boar!
