Saved From The Road To Perdition.

You will all be pleased to know that Mr. Fish is looking a lot better. In fact, he seemed to improve just with no food and 24 hours without his light on. (No one online had mentioned keeping the light off, so maybe it had nothing to do with anything, but it just seemed right to me). I also left the heater on in the study overnight, figuring that if he was stressed he'd probably be happier without big temperature fluctuations.

But I fed him some mushy pea, just to be on the safe side.

And here's the beautiful bit: I did not need to resort to theft or bizarre requests of my local shopkeepers.

The great and good tenbears bought home a bag of frozen peas last night, to save me from myself.

I don't know where I'd be without him, but probably in Cell Block H, doing it hard with the big girls and doing my own prison tattoos,

fish and hate tattoed across the knuckles of my hands,
the hands that mush green peas around
cos they don't understand how
Fish tank glory
becomes just another story.
Fish tank glory
becomes just another story.

(I bet two of you have already named the song and five are almost there.)

We did not have peas with dinner (we had burritos with spinach, they were yum), so I put one in the microwave with a sausage 10B was zapping for himself for his post-work, first beer snack, but it stayed quite hard. So later I zapped several in a cup of water. Doing one on its own seemed strangely mental and I certainly wasn't going to boil anything less than a handful on the stove because that seemed demented as well.

So if anyone's intested, I have about seven cooked green peas in a cup of water on the kitchen bench. If no one wants them I'll eat them later in an attempt to keep healthy.

Peas are very low-GI - great for preventing diabetes!

(I'm glad you did not have to resort to Grand Theft Vego)
